The match wasn’t too great, but they did it! AC Milan won 2-1 against FC Liverpool in Athen. Inzaghi was the hero of the evening shooting two goals for AC Milan. For the team it is a really important victory (beside the money) because they could take their so wanted revenge (2005 in Istanbul). It is amazing how the Italian football showed the world what it is capable of: in one year 1 world cup and 1 Champions League Cup. AC Milan will play against FC Sevilla (31st of August) for the European Supercup. Then in December they’ll fly to Japan for the FIFA Club World Championship (Toyota Cup). Still a lot to win. Winning this Champion League Final, they are also automatically qualified for the next one (no preliminary rounds and more holidays for the players).
